The U of A Advantage
The University of Alberta is consistently ranked one of the top schools in Canada for studying electrical and computer engineering. And with state-of-the-art facilities, an internationally recognized faculty, and a growing pool of successful alumni, it’s easy to see why.
As an ECE graduate student, you’ll work directly alongside our faculty in research areas that interest you. You’ll also have the opportunity to utilize advanced research labs, a professionally-staffed machine shop, and a 6500 sq-ft nano- and micro-fabrication facility with capabilities unique in Canada. Put simply, ECE at the U of A gives you the resources to grow your knowledge far beyond textbooks.
Our department resides in central Alberta, a province that’s currently a hot-bed of industry development. Partnerships with industry and research grants are a common occurrence, and allow our grad students to work in real-world scenarios. Some of our grad students have even started spin-off companies based on their graduate work while still finishing their degrees.
ECE is as multicultural as it is multidisciplinary. We pride ourselves on having a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. Students from various cultural and academic backgrounds who are interested in graduate studies in ECE are encouraged to apply.
